Los, Pezzotti Win Doubles Draw on Second Day of Kentucky Invite

LEXINGTON, Ky. –
Sophomore Paulina Los and junior Monica Pezzotti were crowned champions of Doubles Draw A Saturday on the second day of the Kentucky Invitational in Lexington, Ky. The University of Kansas women’s tennis team went 2-4 in singles competition and 1-2 in doubles for the day.
Los and Pezzotti defeated Armstrong Atlantic’s Aleksandra Filipovski and Barbora Krtickova, 8-5, to take first in Doubles Draw A. Sophomore transfer Claire Dreyer and freshman Karen Hernandez fell in the championship of Doubles Draw B to AAU’s Marlen Hacke and Olga Kalodzitsa, 8-3.
In singles competition, sophomore Amy Barnthouse bested Shilpa Naruka of Morehead State, 6-3, 6-1, to reach the championship match of Singles Draw G. Dreyer defeated Purdue’s Kay Kay Magi, 6-3, 6-3, to reach the fifth-place match in Singles Draw D.
