KU Volleyball Falls at Baylor, 3-1

Waco, Texas – The No. 24 Kansas volleyball team lost its third straight Big 12 Conference match to Baylor Saturday night at the Ferrell Center. The Jayhawks fell to the Lady Bears 30-25, 22-30, 34-32 and 30-17 and dropped their record to 10-4 and 1-4 in league play.

Josi Lima led KU with 14 kills on the night. Jana Correa, in her first appearance in three matches, had 13 kills while Ashley Michaels added 12 kills and seven block assists. Emily Brown had 11 kills and nine digs in the losing effort.

Senior libero Jill Dorsey led the defense with 22 digs. Lima added 11 digs with four other Jayhawks adding at least five digs. Andi Rozum dished out 50 assists and a remarkable eight block assists.

Baylor out-blocked the Jayhawks 13.0 to 10.0 and out-hit them .214 to .139 on the night.

“We had good balance tonight, but Baylor had all the intensity,” Kansas head coach Ray Bechard said. “It was a disappointing loss, but we are going to keep on moving forward.”

The Jayhawks will next be in action Wednesday when they host No. 15 Kansas State at 7 p.m. at the Horejsi Family Athletics Center.
