KU Continues Fall Season at the Windon Memorial Classic

LAWRENCE, KAN. –

The University of Kansas men’s golf team, fresh off its win at the Kansas Invitational, will continue it’s fall season at the Windon Memorial Classic in Glencoe, Ill. The Jayhawks will compete in a 12-team field that includes Big 12 rival Colorado, along with NCAA Championship qualifiers, SMU and host Northwestern.

Skokie Country Club, currently ranked No. 72 in Golf Digest’s America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses, will host the event. The 54-hole event will begin on Sunday, Oct. 8, with 36-holes and will conclude on Monday with 18-holes.

The Jayhawks will try to continue their fall success that has them ranked no. 26 nationally by Golf Week. Kansas will once again be led by senior Gary Woodland who is coming off his second career victory at the Kansas Invitational. Senior Tyler Docking will look to continue his strong fall season that has included finishes of t-4th and t-15th.

Sophomore Walt Koelbel will be making his Jayhawk debut as apart of the team after competiting in two events as an individual. Sophomore Zach Pederson and freshman Bobby Knowles will round out the squad for this weekend’s tournament.
