25th Annual Late Night in the Phog Friday Will Unveil Renovated Allen Fieldhouse

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The University of Kansas men’s and women’s basketball teams will celebrate the beginning of practice at the 25th annual Late Night in the Phog Friday, Oct. 16 in Allen Fieldhouse. This will be Jayhawk fans’ first look at the newly renovated Allen Fieldhouse, complete with wider concourses, updated restrooms and concession stands, and the new Donor Atrium on the west side of the Fieldhouse

The 2009 Late Night in the Phog, presented by HyVee, will run from 6:30 p.m. to approximately 9:30 p.m. Admission is free; doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

For the third straight year, Metro Sports of Kansas City will air Late Night as part of its Midnight Madness show.

As is tradition at Late Night, fans are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items, which Kansas Athletics will donate to local food pantries.

Children 12 and under will not be admitted without an adult, and the Fieldhouse doors will be closed when the arena reaches capacity.

The event will feature music by the KU pep band, skits by both teams, video highlights, introductions and scrimmages by the KU men’s and women’s teams and much more. Upon entry, all fans will receive KU thunder sticks courtesy of HyVee.
