Kansas Women's Basketball Television Package Among Best In Nation

Lawrence, Kan. — The University of Kansas has announced an 18-game women’s basketball television package, making the Jayhawks one of the most televised programs in the country. Four national telecasts highlight the lineup — two on Fox Sports Net and two on College Sports Television (CSTV). One game will air on the state-wide Jayhawk Television Network, four on Metro Sports and nine on Sunflower Cable.

Fox Sports Net will air the Jayhawks’ home game versus Nebraska (Feb. 20) and their road contest at Kansas State (Feb. 26).

CSTV will televise KU at Texas (Jan. 5) at 7 p.m., and the Jayhawks’ home game versus Kansas State (Jan. 8) at 7 p.m.

“This television package is among the best in the country,” new Jayhawk head coach Bonnie Henrickson said. “We’re excited that our fans will be able to follow us so closely throughout the season.”

KU will play UMKC (Nov. 27) at home at 1 p.m. on the Jayhawk Television Network. Stations carrying the network include WIBW in Topeka, Kan., KWCV in Wichita, Kan., KMCI/KSHB in Kansas City, Mo., and Pax 44 in Joplin, Mo./Pittsburg, Kan.

Four games will be broadcast by Metro Sports, based in Kansas City, including Missouri (Jan. 22), Oklahoma (Feb. 2), Colorado (Feb. 13) and Baylor (Feb. 23). Each of those games will also be aired on Sunflower Broadband Channel 6 in Lawrence.

In addition to the Metro Sports games, nine other home games will also be aired live on Sunflower Broadband. Those games include Texas-Arlington (Nov. 21), Sacred Heart (Nov. 24), Denver (Nov. 30), Washburn (Dec. 2), Western Illinois (Dec. 8), Dartmouth (Dec. 18), San Diego State (Dec. 28), Iowa State (Jan. 12) and Texas Tech (Feb. 16).
