Kansas Volleyball to Host Jayhawks For a Cure Saturday

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

As part of Kansas Athletics’ efforts to raise money for cancer research, the University of Kansas volleyball team will hold its Jayhawks For a Cure match on Saturday, Oct. 9 when it hosts Iowa State for a 6:30 p.m. match. Fans wearing pink will be admitted to the contest for $3.

Donations will be accepted at the door or fans may download a donation form by clicking here.

In addition, Kansas Athletics’ concession partner, Centerplate, will donate one dollar for every soft drink sold at the game. All donations will support breast cancer treatment and research at Lawrence Memorial Hospital and the KU Cancer Center.

A number of Jayhawks for a Cure events are planned for the 2010-11 athletic year, including: Kansas Swimming and Diving, Nov. 13 vs. Drury and North Dakota; Kansas Women’s Basketball, Feb. 19 vs. Missouri. Additional Jayhawks For a Cure events will be announced throughout the year.

The 2009-10 Jayhawks for a Cure campaign netted over $8,000, benefiting Lawrence Memorial Hospital and the KU Cancer Center.
