KU’s tandems of Svistun and freshman Mymee Tokuda and junior Kunigunda Dorn and freshman Maria Martinez each fell in their two respective matches on Sunday.

The Jayhawks only doubles win of the event came on Saturday when Svistun and Tokuda defeated Kansas State’s Vieira and Kudlockova, 9-8 (2).

However, despite the struggle in doubles play, Svistun’s singles title, which came over IndianaState’s Fadazi Masiyazi on Saturday, gives the Jayhawks a positive to take away from the three-day tournament.

Kansas will next be in action when it travels to Tulsa, Okla., for the ITA Central Region Championships. The event, at which KU’s Elizaveta Avdeeva and Edina Horvath won the doubles bracket a year ago, will run Oct. 18-21.
