Kansas Rowing to Travel to the Head of the Rock

Kansas rowing continues its fall season Sunday at the 19th Annual Head of the Rock Regatta in Rockford, Ill. The events for the Jayhawks begin at 9:10 a.m. with the Jayhawks competing in the Novice Single, Open Single, Open Double, Varsity Four and Varsity Eight races.

Last week Kansas competed at the Head of the Oklahoma Regatta to kickoff the fall season. The Jayhawks were led by Jennifer Ebel and Lindsey Miles in the Open Double race with a time of 0:17:14 to give them a second-place finish. Kris Lazar and Ashlea Kramer also competed in the race and finished ninth with a time of 0:17:49. Kansas’ Open Singles races, that included Erin Hennessey, Krisy Hainer, Gillian Van Ruyven and Paige Phillips finished fourth, seventh, ninth and eleventh, respectively. Kansas came away with a sixth place finish in its Varsity Eight race with a time of 0:14:45. The two Varsity Four races finished fifth and sixth with times of 0:16:29 and 0:16:36.
