Late Night In The Phog To Be Held Friday

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The University of Kansas men’s and women’s basketball teams will hold the 22nd annual Late Night In The Phog, presented by Blockbuster this Friday, Oct. 15, in Allen Fieldhouse to celebrate the beginning of basketball practice.

Doors will open at 8 p.m., and seating is first-come, first-served. Admission is free, but fans are encouraged to bring canned foods, which the Kansas athletics department will donate to area food shelters. Children 12-and-under will not be admitted without an adult, and the Fieldhouse doors will be closed when the arena reaches capacity.

The event features skits and entertainment by the KU men’s and women’s basketball teams, and music by the KU pep band. There will be a $20,000 on-court contest presented by Intrust Bank and many giveaways, including complimentary thundersticks from SBC. Pre-show entertainment will run from 9-10:35 p.m., and the teams will begin their performances at approximately 10:35 p.m.

Among the many attractions for the night include NBA Hypnotist Tom Silver and the Dallas Mavericks mascot, Mavs Man. Both the KU men and women’s teams will hold brief scrimmages during Late Night.
