LAS CRUCES, N.M.—Seniors Grace Thiry and Meghna Bal each fired a first round score of 74 to tie for 18^th place and lead the Jayhawks to 10^th place overall after the first round of the Price’s “Give ‘Em Five” Intercollegiate in Las Cruces, N.M., on Monday.

Katy Nugent, Jennifer Clark and Thanuttra Boonraksasat are in a three-way tie at 41^st following first rounds of 77. Freshman Meghan Potee, competing as an individual, is tied for 32^nd with a first round score of 76.

As a team Kansas shot a first round 302, which is 17 strokes back from leader Baylor’s 285.

The Jayhawks will compete in round two on Tuesday and play round three on Wednesday.
