LAWRENCE, Kan. – With its final non-conference contest out of the way, Kansas soccer (9-6, 1-3 Big 12) will focus on league play in its final four matches of the regular season starting with a road test at Texas Tech (9-4-2, 2-1-1 Big 12) on Friday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. It will be the only game on the KU schedule this weekend.

Live stats for the contest can be found on the KU Athletics’ website at www.KUAthletics.com. In addition, Texas Tech will have a video stream of Friday’s match available on its website, www.TexasTech.com.

About the Jayhawks
Kansas wrapped up non-conference play and returned to its winning ways last Sunday picking up a 2-1 win at Creighton in overtime to halt a two-game skid. The Jayhawks improved to 3-1 in overtime games this season and 9-6 overall.

Freshman Ingrid Vidal was responsible for the game-winner versus the Bluejays, her fourth game-winning goal of the year and team-high 10th score of the season. Vidal now has four goals in the last five games and ranks tied for second in the Big 12 Conference with 25 points this season. Fellow freshman Jamie Fletcher also collected a goal Sunday to rank second on the team with six scores. Junior Whitney Berry has played an integral part on the offensive end as her 11 assists are tied for the top mark in the country.

In the back field, junior Shelby Williamson has clocked a team-high 1,283 minutes on the field but recently made the move to the midfield. Williamson helps hold down the defense along with goalkeepers Kat Liebetrau and Kaitlyn Stroud, who split time between the posts. Stroud is tops on the team with a 1.61 goals against average and is 6-2 on the year.

Scouting Texas Tech
Like Kansas, Texas Tech dropped its Big 12 Conference game last Friday only to rebound with a non-conference win Sunday as the Lady Raiders logged a 2-1 victory versus TCU. TTU, which is 9-4-2 overall, including 2-1-1 in the league, has been stingy on defense allowing just nine goals this season to rank third in the Big 12 with a 0.58 GAA. Sophomore Victoria Esson, who ranks fifth with a 0.66 GAA, owns six shutouts and a team-best .833 save percentage.

Offensively, sophomore Jessica Fuston leads the Lady Raiders with seven goals and 14 points. Senior Madison Terry is next with four goals on just 12 shots, while freshman Jaelene Hinkle has a team-high three assists.

Jayhawks in Top 40 RPI
In the latest RPI standings, released Oct. 11 by the NCAA, Kansas moved up a spot to No. 36. KU is one of four Big 12 schools in the top 40 along with No. 2 Oklahoma State (12), Texas A&M (13) and Baylor (24).
