LAWRENCE, Kan. – The University of Kansas soccer team retained its high national ranking in this week’s editions of the four major women’s soccer polls. After beating Missouri over the weekend, the Jayhawks are 12-2 overall and 4-1 in the Big 12 and appear in SoccerBuzz’s top ten for the sixth time this season.

The SoccerBuzz Top 30 lists the Jayhawks as the No. 6 team in the country. The sixth spot in the poll ties the highest-ever ranking achieved by KU, who also hit No. 6 in the Sept. 13 edition of the SoccerBuzz poll. After being selected No. 11 in the preseason poll, the Jayhawks have been in SoccerBuzz’s national top 10 for six of the seven weeks this season.

In SoccerBuzz’s regional rankings, Kansas tops the Central region for the seventh consecutive week, ahead of Big 12 rivals Texas A&M and Nebraska, who are also in the region’s top five.

In the NSCAA/Adidas Top 25, the Jayhawks climb up one spot from No. 10 to No. 9. Kansas appears in the No. 2 spot, just behind Texas A&M, in the NSCAA/Adidas Central region poll.

This week, Soccer America placed KU in the No. 18 spot, up from No. 19, while the Jayhawks stayed at No. 13 in the Soccer Times Top 25.
