Costner Tied for Tyson/Embassy Suites Invitational Lead

FAYETTVILLE, Ark. –

The University of Kansas women’s golf team is currently in sixth place, in a 16-team field, after the second round of the Tyson/Embassy Suites Invitational. The Jayhawks shot a second round of 309 for a two day total of 612 at the par-72 Pinnacle Country Club.

“We played well on the back nine” head coach Erin O’Neil said. “We need to continue the momentum we gained and stick with our game plan.”

Host school Arkansas continues to lead the tournament with a 590 followed by Kentucky and Notre Dame with a 602.

Junior Amanda Costner is tied for the overall lead after firing an even par 72. Senior Chelsey Pryor is tied for 23rd after her second round 76. Sophomore Annie Giangrosso is in a tie for 60th after shooting an 81. Senior Meredith Winkelmann shot an 80 to put her in a tie for 68th. Sophomore Sarah Kierl is in a tie for 76th after an 89. Junior Jill Womble, playing as an individual, is in a tie for 83rd after carding an 82.
