<?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>LAWRENCE, Kan. — Kansas cornerback Aqib Talib was named to the CBSSports.com Halfway All-America team it was announced on Wednesday.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>

Last week Talib was named a first-team All-America by SI.com and a second-team All-America pick by Phil Steele’s Magazine as those outlets also named mid-season All-America teams.

The 6-2, 205-pound junior from Richardson, Texas, has recorded 25 tackles, three interceptions and three passes broken up through six games. He returned an interception 100 yards for a touchdown against Florida International.

Talib has also seen action as a wide receiver and has seven catches for 174 yards and four touchdowns.

Other defensive backs on the list included DeJuan Tribble of BostonCollege, Craig Steltz of LSU and Mike Mickens of Cincinnati.

Kansas, which is ranked 15th in the country, returns to action playing at Colorado on Saturday. Kickoff is slated for 4:31 p.m. Central time and the game will be televised on ESPN. The Jayhawks will then travel to Texas A&M on Oct. 27 in a game that will be televised on ESPN2 beginning at 6 p.m. Central.
