LAWRENCE, Kan. – D.J. Beshears and Daymond Patterson of Kansas were both recognized on Phil Steele’s 2010 Midseason All-Big 12 Conference football teams announced Tuesday.

Beshears was named the league’s second-team kickoff return specialist, while Patterson was tabbed as a third-team wide receiver. The magazine named three teams at the mid-way point of the season.

Beshears ranks second in the Big 12 and 13th in the NCAA with a 29.94 kickoff return average. The sophomore has five returns of at least 30 yards this season, including a 96-yard return for a score against New Mexico State.

Patterson is averaging 5.50 receptions for 49.83 yards per game to rank ninth and 11th respectively in the conference. His reception average is tied for 38th in the nation. He leads the team with three 20-plus yard plays this season.

Kansas will host Texas A&M Saturday, Oct. 23 in its annual homecoming game. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. The game will be televised on FSN.
