Oct. 21, 2010

LAWRENCE, Kan. – University of Kansas junior center Markieff Morris had successful hernia surgery Thursday Kansas head coach Bill Self said.

“Surgery went as expected,” Self said. “He should be back on his feet this weekend and returning in a limited capacity to practice sometime next week.”

Morris, a 6-foot-10, 246-pounder from Philadelphia, hasn’t missed any of KU’s first six practices due to the injury.

Barring any setbacks, Morris should be available for Kansas’ exhibition opener against Washburn scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 2 in Allen Fieldhouse.
