Jayhawks Wrap Up Fall Season at Baylor Intercollegiate

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Kansas men’s golf team will wrap up the fall portion of their schedule Oct. 27-28 when they travel to Dallas, Texas to compete in the Baylor Intercollegiate. The 54-hole event will be played at Royal Oaks Country Club (par-71, 7068 yards).

The team has claimed two top-five finishes during the fall campaign at the Fairway Club Invitational and Club Invitational. Sophomore Nate Barbee has led the team with three top-20 finishes and maintains a team-leading scoring average of 71.38.

The 12-team field features Big 12 rivals Baylor, Oklahoma and Texas A&M, along with three of the top 20 teams in the country in Arkansas, Baylor and Lamar, according to Golfweek’s collegiate rankings.

Head Coach Kit Grove will feature the same line-up he has utilized in all the tournaments this fall consisting of Barbee, seniors Walt Koelbel and Andrew Storm, and freshmen Blake Giroux and Ian Anson.

The team has amassed 14 rounds of par or better during the fall season, leading to eight top-20 individual finishes.

The tournament will consist of 36-holes played on Oct. 27 starting with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start, followed by the final round on Oct. 28. Live scoring will be available at golfstat.com. Check back to kuathletics.com for complete results and recap upon the conclusion of each day of the event.
