Jayhawks Head South for Derby Invitational

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

The University of Kansas women’s golf team will conclude its fall season as it travels to Auburn, Ala. to compete at the Derby Invitational. The three-round tournament hosted by Auburn University will take place Oct. 27-29 at Auburn University Club Golf Course (par-72, 6,310 yards).

The first two rounds, Monday and Tuesday, will tee-off at 7:45 a.m., while Wednesday’s final round will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.

The Jayhawks will be competing in a 17-team field along with Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, Birmingham Southern, UCF, Florida, Florida State, Furman, LSU, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Nebraska, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

The Jayhawks last competed, Oct. 16-18, at Price’s Give `Em Five New Mexico State Invitational. Kansas finished in 14th place, while senior Amanda Costner tied for 13th, shooting a three-round total 225 strokes.
