The history

In October 2005, the Jayhawks defeated the No. 20 Tigers, 175-125, for their first win in the series in six years. The win for Kansas in Lawrence set the Jayhawks on track for a winning season, complete with a national ranking that climbed as high as No. 23 after competition at the Minnesota Invite during the 2005-06 season. The Jayhawks received a national ranking that year for the first time since 1997 when Kansas was also ranked (No. 24).
