KU Tennis Concludes Play at Jayhawk Invitational

LAWRENCE, Kan.

Junior Kate Goff and sophomore Alessandra Dzuba recorded a doubles win over Iowa State on Sunday to conclude day three of the Jayhawk Invitational at First Serve Tennis center.

Goff and Dzuba tallied their first win of the season as a doubles team, defeating Ellie Nixon and Chelsea Loprinzi in round three of doubles competition.

In singles play, Goff, Dzuba and junior Maria Martinez all fell in the consolation round.

“The weekend was positive,” assistant coach German Dalmagro said. “We saw some good things and some things we need to work on. It gave us a perspective of where we are and where we need to be. Now we can look forward to the off-season and work hard on individual improvement to get ready for the spring.”

The Jayhawk Invitational concludes the fall tennis season. The Jayhawks open their spring season on Jan. 30 at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.
