Kansas Baseball to Host Crimson and Blue World Series This Weekend

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

To coincide with Major League Baseball’s World Series, the Kansas baseball team is hosting its Crimson and Blue World Series this weekend at Hoglund Ballpark. The best-of-three series will be the final event of the team’s fall practice season, which began on Sept. 23.

The series will open on Friday, Oct. 29 at 4:15 p.m., while Game Two is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 30 at 2:30 p.m. The third-and-deciding game will be played Sunday at 2:30 p.m. if necessary. All three games will be played at Hoglund Ballpark and are open to the public.

Senior outfielder Casey Lytle is serving as the captain of the Crimson team, while fellow senior captain Jimmy Waters is captaining the Blue team. The losing squad will have to arrive early to help set up as well as staff the Jayhawk Fun Zone at the Nov. 20 football game against Oklahoma State, while the series winning team will also be around to sign autographs at the event.
