Junior Katy Nugent Leads Kansas Women's Golf to Fifth Place After Day One of Plametto Intercollegiate

Day One Results 
KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C.—Katy Nugent is tied for sixth place individually and the Kansas women’s golf team is in a three-way tie for fifth overall following day one of the Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate tournament in Kiawah Island, S.C. Monday.
Nugent fired rounds of 73 and 71 to finish the first day with a two round score of 144.
Red shirt freshman Thanuttra Boonraksasat is tied for 20th with rounds of 76 and 71.
Grace Thiry is tied for 29th after shooting rounds of 70 and 80. Thiry’s 70 in the first round is the lowest score of her career.
Senior Meghna Bal is tied for 34th following rounds of 77 and 74.
With a two round score of 163 in her first competition on the KU scorecard, freshman Meghan Potee is tied for 74th.
Kansas will finish the final round of the event Tuesday.
