Volleyball Hosts Iowa State Wednesday

Lawrence, Kan. – Kansas volleyball will look for its second straight Big 12 victory Wednesday night when it hosts Iowa State at the Horejsi Family Athletics Center. The Jayhawks are 12-7 overall and 3-7 in league play with 10 regular-season Big 12 matches remaining.

Iowa State Preview
The Cyclones (8-12, 1-10 Big 12) are coming off two home losses last week to Northern Iowa and Oklahoma. Freshman middle blocker Erin Boeve was the offensive star for Iowa State last week, tallying 37 kills on a .380 hitting percentage.

Iowa State’s only conference victory of the season at Oklahoma on Sept. 17. The Cyclones are 5-4 on the road this season.

The Kansas/Iowa State Series
With a 3-2 win over the Cyclones on Oct. 13, Kansas tied the all-time series with Iowa State 32-32-1. The Jayhawks also hold a 10-match win streak over Iowa State, which dates back to Sept. 23, 2000.

The Last Time KU & ISU Met…
Kansas halted a five-match skid with a victory over Iowa State Oct. 13 at the Hilton Coliseum. The Jayhawks defeated the Cyclones in five games, 30-23, 29-31, 28-30, 30-24 and 15-5.

Ashley Michaels led KU with 22 kills on a .391 attack percentage. Lima added 18 kills (.351) and added 15 digs and four blocks. Jana Correa and Emily Brown (.393) each added 12 kills while Paula Caten had eight of her own.

Jill Dorsey led the defense with 22 digs with four others – Correa, Brown, Andi Rozum and Lima – adding at least 11. Rozum had a match-high 63 assists on the night.

KU hit .306 and outblocked ISU 13.0 to 10.0. The Jayhawks also tallied a season-high 86 digs.
