Proehl Wins Big 12 Diver of the Week

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

University of Kansas Diver Meghan Proehl won Big 12 Diver of the Week on Wednesday, Oct. 28. The senior captain from San Diego, Calif. won both the one-meter dive (279.23) and the three-meter competition (277.50) last weekend vs. Florida and Arkansas. This was her first conference award, and the first for Kansas this season.

“She dove really well against two SEC schools that are strong in swimming and diving,” Head diving coach Eric Elliot said. “She really stepped up and did a good job. It should really help her confidence for future meets.”

Proehl and the rest of the swimming and diving team will return to the pool this weekend for two consecutive home meets. The Jayhawks host Missouri Friday in Robinson Natatorium at 6 p.m. KU will will also compete at Robinson against Nebraska-Omaha on Saturday. Start time for that meet is set for 12 p.m.
