Jayhawks Go High-Def in Kansas City

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas men’s basketball games televised on the Jayhawk Television Network (JTV) will air in high definition (HD) in Kansas City starting this season, Jayhawk Sports Marketing has announced.

In addition ESPN Full Court will air Jayhawk Television Network games in HD, starting with the November 12 game against Longwood.

The JTV schedule this season includes eight games (see schedule below). The Jayhawk Television Network includes KSMO in Kansas City, KSNT in Topeka, KSNW in Wichita (Salina, Great Bend, Oberlin and Garden City) and Cable One and Cox Communications in southeast Kansas.

Additionally, Kansas’ first two exhibition contests – Nov. 2 vs. Washburn and Nov. 9 vs. Emporia State – will air on JTV and will also be available to subscribers of AT&T Jayhawk All-Access via www.kuathletics.com. Jayhawk Sports Marketing, a division of IMG College, is the multi-media rights holder of Kansas Athletics and administers the Jayhawk Television Network.

Dave Armstrong handles the play-by-play for the Jayhawk Television Network, while former Jayhawk guard Greg Gurley is the analyst. Armstrong has called Big Eight/Big 12 men’s basketball games since 1988, including more than 15 seasons on the Jayhawk Television Network. Gurley played at KU from 1992-95, won three conference titles and was on KU’s 1993 Final Four squad. He has been involved with television and radio broadcasts in the Kansas City area and on the Jayhawk Network for more than 12 years.
