-Kansas holds a 37-9 record all-time in exhibition games and has won 28 of its last 30 preseason contests.
-Today’s game marked the 16th time the Jayhawks have played an in-state Division II foe in the preseason, which includes last season’s victories against Emporia State and Pittsburg State.
-KU is 6-0 in preseason exhibition games against Fort Hays State. Under head coach Bonnie Henrickson the Jayhawks are 4-0 versus Fort Hays State.
-Fort Hays State leads the regular season series with Kansas, 5-4. The Jayhawks and Tigers have not met during regular-season play since KU took a 72-32 win over FHSU on Feb. 20, 1976.
-The last time the Jayhawks met the Tigers, KU took a 93-37 win over FHSU on November 2, 2008.
-Sophomore Carolyn Davis scored the first 10 points of the game for the Jayhawks. She had a double-double at halftime with 26 points and 11 rebounds.
-KU made 21-of-28 on the game for 75 percent.
-Carolyn Davis recorded a team-high 35 points. She also grabbed a team-high 17 rebounds and had a double-double by halftime. Had it been a regular season game, Davis would have had a career high in points (35), rebounds (17) and blocks (6).
-In addition to Davis’ 35 points, senior Marisha Brown finished with 10 points as the only other Jayhawk in double-figures.
-Brown also hit all eight of her free throw attempts in the game.
-Junior Aishah Sutherland also finished with double-figure rebounds with 11 in just 19 minutes.
-Kansas used the starting lineup of Angel Goodrich, Monica Engelman, Carolyn Davis, Aishah Sutherland and Brooke Jelniker in both halves.
-Ten of the 11 Jayhawks saw playing time. Freshmen Keena Mays, Brooke Jelniker, Diara Moore, Tania Jackson and Charlicia “CeCe” Harper all played for the first time in a Kansas uniform.
-As a team, Kansas dished out 17 assists, including six by sophomore Monica Engelman and five by sophomore Angel Goodrich.
