Kansas Rowing Grabs Top Three Spots in Varsity Eight at Frostbite Regatta

WICHITA, Kan.— Kansas rowing had a strong showing at the Frostbite Regatta in Wichita, Kan., on Sunday Nov. 1 taking the top four spots in the Second Novice Eight race and the top three spots as well as fifth place in the Varsity Eight race. The Jayhawks also grabbed third and fourth place finishes in the Varsity Four.

“Our main focus was the novice competing in their first race and they did pretty well,” said head coach Rob Catloth. “In the varsity boats we did like we thought we would. The main thing was getting the novice some experience and I think we did a good job of that today.”

In the Novice Four Kansas Placed third and fourth while in the First Novice Eight the Jayhawks placed second, fourth, fifth and eight.

Kansas returns to action next weekend at the Head of the Hooch in Chattanooga, Tenn., on Saturday Nov. 7 and Sunday Nov. 8.
