Caroline Jarmoc is a great student-athlete – statistically one of the top volleyball players in the Big 12 Conference and the nation – but the numbers don’t tell the entire story. It’s not easy to quantify the bravery necessary to travel far from home, the hours of hard work in the weight room, the late nights studying to achieve excellence in the classroom. The Kansas junior middle blocker is “More than A Number” as seen in the video above…but the numbers are pretty good too.

Jarmoc is the fifth player in Kansas volleyball history to accumulate 200 kills and 100 blocks in three different seasons and has been the the Big 12’s leader in attack percentage all season. She went a step further on Oct. 23 when she stepped onto the national scene as the AVCA National Player of the Week. Her career-high 12 blocks helped upend No. 14 Kansas State, while her career-best 23 kills pushed KU past TCU to not only earn her the Jayhawks’ third National Player of the Week award ever, but send KU to its best top-25 (No. 17) and RPI (No. 8) rankings.
