Kansas Rowing Continues Fall Season in Tennessee

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

The Kansas rowing team will travel to Chattanooga, Tenn., on Saturday for a two-day competition at the Head of the Hooch. Racing will begin on Saturday morning for the Jayhawks when the Championship Eight race commences.

On Saturday, the Jayhawks will enter seven boats in the Championship Double race, one boat in the Championship Four race and two boats in the Championship Eight race.

On Sunday morning, the Jayhawks will enter boats in the Championship Single , Lightweight Single and Novice Single races. Also in Sunday’s competition will be the Open Eight and Open Four races. Kansas will enter two boats in the Open Eight and two boats in the Open Four.

The Head of the Hooch has become a traditional stop on the Jayhawks’ Fall tour. Last year, KU placed second in both the Championship Double and Open Eight races. Senior Jelayna Da Silva had the best showing among returning Jayhawks in the Championship Single, placing 11th. Junior Kara Boston finished just behind Da Silva with a 12th place finish as a sophomore.
