Kansas Baseball Rounds Out Fall Ball

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The University of Kansas baseball team completed its fall practices on Thursday by playing the final scrimmage of the West/Midwest series and completing Wednesday’s game, which was tied when practice ended.

The second scrimmage of the series was continued at the beginning of Thursday’s practice, with the West Team picking up an extra-inning win on an RBI single by senior infielder Andy Scholl to right field. Junior pitcher Kodiak Quick picked up the win, throwing four innings and allowing no runs on two hits, while senior pitcher Mike Zagurski took the loss for the Midwest Team allowing one run in four innings.

In the series finale, freshman pitcher Logan Murphy was the winning pitcher for the West Team, as he allowed two runs on four hits and struck out four batters in five innings of work. Scholl posted a 4-for-6 day at the plate in the two games, including a two-run home run in the final scrimmage. Freshman infielder Eric Snowden was 2-for-3 at the plate for the West Team.
