Women's Golf Places 16th At The Derby

Auburn, Ala. –

The University of Kansas women’s golf team took 16th, in a 17-team field, at The Derby on Sunday. The Jayhawks shot a final round of 311 for a three-day total of 947 at the par-72 Auburn University Club.

Auburn, the host school, finished in first with an 879 followed by Duke with an 880.

Senior Chelsey Pryor led the Jayhawks with a 225 total and a tie for 16th. Sophomore Annie Giangrosso tied for 58th after a three round total of 236. Senior Meredith Winkelmann tied for 73rd with a 243 total. Junior Amanda Costner tied for 76th after a 244 total. Sophomore Sarah Kierl took 89th after totaling a 266.

The Jayhawks have wrapped up the fall season and will next be in action on Feb. 20-21 at the Central District Invitational in Parrish, Fla.
