Brorsen, Larson Land On Academic All-District Football Team

<?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>LAWRENCE, Kan. – Russell Brorsen and John Larson, the starting defensive ends on the Kansas football team, have been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 7 football team it was announced on Thursday.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>

Brorsen, a junior from Stillwater, Okla., was named to the team for the second time. Brorsen owns a 3.96 grade-point average while majoring in chemistry.

On the field this season Brorsen has recorded 22 tackles, including 1.5 for loss, while adding an interception.

Larson, a junior from Shawnee Mission, Kan., has a 3.69 grade-point average in economics. Larson has recorded 30 tackles, including eight sacks. He has two interceptions, while also forcing three fumbles and recovering another.

Both players are now eligible for academic All-America honors, which will be announced later in the month.
