Complete List of CoSIDA Academic All-District Teams

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Redshirt junior middle blocker Caroline Jarmoc became the second Kansas volleyball player in program history named to the Capital One Academic All-District 7 First Team, while junior setter Erin McNorton was named to the Second Team announced by CoSIDA on Thursday afternoon.

KU’s most recent First Team honoree since Paula Caten was named in 2005, Jarmoc is now eligible for Academic All-America consideration.

Jarmoc and McNorton are two of six volleyball players from the Big 12 to make the list. Iowa State led with three, while Texas had one. Academic All-Big 12 awards will be announced later this month.

Jarmoc, a chemical engineering major with a 3.37 GPA, has powered the Kansas offense and defense all season long. The Calgary, Alberta, Canada native leads the Big 12 Conference in attack percentage and ranks in the league’s top-five in kills, blocks and points per set.

Her 348 kills and 132 blocks makes Jarmoc one of five Jayhawks all-time to record at least 200 kills and 100 blocks in three-different seasons. Jarmoc also became the third Jayhawk in history to be honored as an AVCA National Player of the Week (Oct. 23).

In her first year as a starter, McNorton has taken the Big 12 by storm. A business major with a 3.55 GPA, McNorton has led the conference all season long with her 11.92 assists per set, which ranks sixth in the nation. The Dallas, Texas native had not started a match until this season and already checks in at ninth on KU’s all-time career assists list (1,297).

McNorton runs the offense that has ranked top-three in the Big 12 throughout the season and currently totals a .237 attack percentage.
