LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas men’s basketball player Thomas Robinson was chosen to highlight the front cover of the regional issue of Sports Illustrated. The regional issue is part of the college basketball preview Sports Illustrated releases every year.

Robinson, a junior power forward from Washington, D.C., makes it three-straight years in which a Jayhawk has been chosen for the front cover of the popular magazine. Last season, former Jayhawk Marcus Morris was featured on the March Madness edition of Sports Illustrated.

This marks the 11th time a Jayhawk has graced the cover of Sports Illustrated.

Robinson joins an elite group of former Jayhawks to be featured on the front cover. Morris, Sherron Collins, Mario Chalmers, Brandon Rush, Julian Wright, Nick Collison, Raef LaFrentz, Scot Pollard, Paul Pierce, Jacque Vaughn, Mark Randall and Danny Manning have all appeared on the front cover.

Collins, Chalmers, Collison and Manning all have appeared more than once, led by Chalmers and Manning who have each appeared three times each.
