Kevin Ward Named Academic All-American

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

Former University of Kansas men’s golfer, Kevin Ward, was named a 2005 GCAA Academic All-American recently. This marks the first time Ward has been named to the team.

Ward led last year’s squad with a 72.22 stroke average. The Leawood, Kan. native was an All-Big 12 selection and he was the top finisher in six of the team’s eight events last spring and nine of the squad’s 13 events overall.

To be eligible for this honor, the student-athlete must maintain a 3.2 GPA, play in 70 percent of the tournaments and hold at least a 77.00 scoring average. The 2004 Kansas and Missouri Amateur Champion is currently playing on the Grey Goose Gateway Tour and resides in Scottsdale, Arizona.
