Kansas Leads No. 25 Baylor at Halftime, 17-3.

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas leads the 25th-ranked Baylor Bears, 17-3 at halftime on Saturday afternoon at Memorial Stadium. The Jayhawks scored on a pair of two-yard touchdown runs by James Sims and Christian Matthews, as well as a 37-yard field goal by Ron Doherty. A field goal at the end of the half finally got the Bears on the scoreboard.

The Jayhawks managed to outgain the high-octane Baylor offense, 192-130 in the first half, with 146 of those yards coming on the ground. Freshman Darrian Miller led all rushers with 13 carries for a career-high 93 yards. Sophomore quarterback Jordan Webb finished the half, 11-for-15 for 46 yards.

KU’s defense forced three turnovers in the first half and held highly-regarded quarterback Robert Griffin III to only 79 yards on 8-for-11 passing. The Jayhawk defense forced a pair of fumbles to stall Baylor drives, while KU recovered a third fumble following an interception.
