Kansas Football Trails Nebraska 14-0 At Halftime

LINCOLN, Neb. – Kansas football trails Nebraska 14-0 at the half in Lincoln. The Jayhawk defense held the sixth-best rushing team in the country to just 22 yards in the first quarter and 87 yards in the half.

Offensively, KU has managed just 47 yards. Junior QB Quinn Mecham was 3-of-7 passing for 15 yards. Nebraska’s Blackshirts sacked Mecham four times for 17 yards in losses. On the ground, D.J. Beshears picked up 14 yards as Kansas totaled 32 rushing yards as a team.

Nebraska scored both of its touchdowns on the ground. In the first quarter, Rex Burkhead scored from four yards. Roy Helu added the second TD in the second quarter from 20 yards out.

Nebraska QB Taylor Martinez is 9-of-16 passing for 106 yards.
