Kansas Swimming and Diving Maryland-Bound

Nov. 14, 2006

LAWRENCE, Kan. – KU swimming and diving will head east to College Park, Md., Thursday, to compete in the Terrapin Cup Invitational meet, hosted by the University of Maryland. The three-day meet will feature competition from 13 east coast teams, including the University of Maryland, the University of Connecticut and Navy.

The Kansas swimming and diving team is fresh off a bye week following a 99-49 home victory over the University of Northern Iowa on November 3 and 4. The win moved Kansas to 3-1 overall and 0-1 within Big 12 competition.

The Invitational will offer the Jayhawks an opportunity to race fast against non-conference teams in a championship meet format with preliminaries and finals and will serve as a practice meet that will help prepare Kansas for the Big 12 Championships in February.

The invite will kick off Thursday, Nov. 16 and continue through Saturday, Nov. 18.
