Jayhawks to Host Kansas State on Saturday

LAWRENCE, Kan. — The University of Kansas (5-5, 2-4 Big 12) football team looks for its third-straight win as the Jayhawks host Kansas State (7-4, 4-3 Big 12) in the 104th edition of the Sunflower Showdown. The game, scheduled to kickoff at 2:30 p.m. from KU’s Memorial Stadium, will be broadcast by FSN.

The Jayhawks enter the game against the Wildcats following a bye week after defeating Iowa State 41-10 on Nov. 4 in Ames, Iowa. The ever-improving Kansas defense has allowed just one touchdown over the last two games, while the KU offense has relied on the legs of senior running back Jon Cornish who leads the Big 12 with 1,130 rushing yards.

The Wildcats enter the contest against the Jayhawks riding a three-game winning streak after knocking off No. 4 Texas last week 45-42 in Manhattan. K-State is averaging 36.7 points per game during its current win streak which also includes wins over Iowa State (31-10) and Colorado (34-21).
