Jayhawks Trail No. 4 Texas 14-0 in Football at Halftime

LAWRENCE, Kan. – In a defensive battle, the fourth-ranked Texas football team has a 14-0 lead on Kansas on a cold brisk Saturday at Kivisto Field at Memorial Stadium.

Texas went up 7-0 on its first drive of the game when sophomore Vondrell McGee scored on a 14-yard run up the middle to cap a 10-play, 71-yard drive midway through the first quarter.

UT ended the half with a seven-play drive covering 67 yards capped by junior quarterback Colt McCoy scoring on a four-yard scramble to make the score 14-0.

For the half Kansas limited Texas to 160 yards total offense yet the Longhorns’ defense was just as solid limiting KU to 102 total yards.
