Dezmon Briscoe

Former Kansas wide receiver Dezmon Briscoe, who played at KU from 2007-09, was picked up by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sept. 6 after being released by the Cincinnati Bengals. Briscoe has been on the practice squad all season. As a member of the practice squad, he can be activated and added to the 53-man roster at any time. Players can be promoted to the active roster of their current team or to that of any other team. They have free agent status and can sign with any team they wish without compensation to the original team. Briscoe was selected by Cincinnati in the sixth round of this year’s draft.

Anthony Collins

Offensive lineman Anthony Collins, who played at KU from 2005-07, is in his third season with the Cincinnati Bengals. Collins made his first start of the season Sunday in Cincinnati’s 23-17 loss at Indianapolis. He has been active for four of the Bengals’ nine games this season, and played in 25 games in his NFL career. He was selected in the fourth round of the 2008 NFL Draft by the Bengals.

Marcus Henry

Wide receiver Marcus Henry, who played at KU from 2004-07, was placed on the practice squad injured reserve on Oct. 7 with a knee injury, which will sideline him for the remainder of the season. Henry was picked up by the Carolina Panthers on Sept. 24. He spent the last two seasons with the New York Jets. Henry was selected by the Jets in the sixth round of the 2008 NFL Draft.

James Holt

Linebacker James Holt, who played at KU from 2005-08, was injured in San Diego’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sept. 26 and was placed on injured reserve, meaning he will miss the remainder of the 2010 season. Holt finished his 2010 season with two tackles on special teams. He was an undrafted free agent signee by the Chargers in 2009, and played in nine games recording 10 tackles a season ago.

Kerry Meier

Former KU wide receiver Kerry Meier, who played at KU from 2006-09, injured his knee in his second preseason game against the New England Patriots on Aug. 20 and will miss the 2010 season. Meier recorded one catch for seven yards in the game against Patriots – and had three catches in the preseason. According to an Associated Press story, Meier was on his way to earning a spot on the Falcons’ team as a backup wide receiver.

Moran Norris

Former Kansas fullback Moran Norris, who played at KU from 1996-2000, is in his 10th year of professional football and his fourth season with the San Francisco 49ers. Norris started his sixth game of the season Sunday in San Francisco’s 23-20 overtime win over the St. Louis Rams at Candlestick Park. Norris has played in all nine of the 49ers’ games this season, making six starts. He has three catches for 15 yards and two carries from scrimmage for no gain. Norris was originally drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the fourth round of the 2001 NFL Draft. He has also played for the Houston Texans and Detroit Lions in addition to a season with the Saints and three with the 49ers.

Mike Rivera

Former Kansas linebacker Mike Rivera, who played at KU from 2005-08, was picked up by the Green Bay Packers on Oct. 13, after being cut in training camp by the Tennessee Titans. Rivera has been on Green Bay’s practice squad the last three weeks, and was back in Lawrence last weekend with the Packers on a bye week. Rivera has been with three different teams in his NFL career. He was originally signed by the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent prior to the 2009 season.

Darrell Stuckey

Former Kansas safety Darrell Stuckey, who played at KU from 2006-09, is in his rookie season with the San Diego Chargers. San Diego had a bye week this week. Stuckey has just played in one game this season, but because the Chargers have not put him on injured reserve, the team has hope that he can play this season. He was selected in the fourth round by the Chargers in this year’s NFL Draft.

Aqib Talib

Former Kansas cornerback Aqib Talib, who played at KU from 2005-07, is in his third season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Talib collected a career-high eight tackles and had a pass break up in Tampa Bay’s 31-16 win over the Carolina Panthers Sunday. Talib is tied for second in the NFL with five interceptions and also has 32 tackles and seven pass breakups in eight games. He recorded his first NFL interception return for a touchdown against Arizona on Oct. 31, and was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week the following week. Talib was selected in the first round by the Buccaneers in the 2008 NFL Draft.
