Jayhawk Volleyball Welcomes Baylor Wednesday In 6 p.m. Match

With a special match time of 6 p.m., Kansas volleyball will welcome Baylor on Wednesday, Nov. 17 at the Horejsi Family Athletics Center. The contest will be televised on Metro Sports in the Kansas City and Lawrence areas with Brenda VanLengen and Jill (Dorsey) Hall calling all of the action.

The Jayhawks are coming off their first win at Texas A&M in program history, and will look to continue its momentum as it faces the nation’s second-best defense in the Bears, who lead the Big 12 with 18.80 digs per set.

Testing BU’s back row will be senior Karina Garlington, who continues to pace the Jayhawk offense with 3.54 kills per set, which ranks seventh in the Big 12. Garlington has been receiving help from fellow senior Jenna Kaiser, who has 3.64 kills per set over the last four matches, including a season-high 17 versus the Aggies last week. Freshman Brianne Riley is also coming off a strong performance as she collected a career-best 32 digs at TAMU. She currently leads the Jayhawks with 3.88 digs per set on the season, but has averaged 4.93 digs per set over the past four contests.

Baylor leads the all-time series with Kansas 19-13, but the Jayhawks hold a 9-6 edge in matches played in Lawrence. KU has won its last two matches versus Baylor at home and seven of the last eight.
