Nov. 18, 2004

Lawrence, Kan. –

Kansas men’s golf head coach Ross Randall announced the signing of two golfers to national letters of intent for the 2005-2006 season on Thursday. David Cosel (Monument, Colo.) and Patrick Roth (Prairie Village, Kan.) will join the team next fall.

“We are really happy with the signing of these two student-athletes,” Randall said. “They are good people and good students. We really think they can help us continue to be a strong team in the future.”

Cosel will attend Kansas after prepping at Lewis Palmer High School. In 2004, he took first place at the Air Force Academy PGA Junior Series event, first place at the Colorado Section PGA Junior State Championship and first place at the FCWT-Southern Colorado Junior Shootout.

Roth will join the Jayhawks after graduating from Rockhurst High School in Kansas City, Mo. Roth was named to the first team All-Metro as well as All-State honors for the state of Missouri in 2004. He has earned seven top-10 finishes in nationally ranked tournaments sponsored by the AJGA, PGA, CJGA and the Kansas Golf Association. Most recently, Roth was named to the All-Collegiate Preview Series Team by the KGA for the third consecutive year.
