Kansas Football Moves To Second In Major Polls

<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = “urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags” />LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas football has moved to second in the nation in all four major polls that were released on Sunday. The Jayhawks are second to LSU in the Bowl Championship Series, Associated Press, USA Today and Harris Interactive polls.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = “urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office” />

Kansas, 11-0 on the season after defeating IowaState 45-7 on Saturday, has achieved its highest ranking in school history as the 1968 team was ranked third by the Associated Press for three weeks.

The Jayhawks will conclude the regular season facing Missouri, which at 10-1, is ranked fourth in the BCS and USA Today polls and third in the AP and Harris Interactive polls, at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City on Saturday at 7 p.m. in a game that will be televised nationally on ABC.

The winner of the game will advance to the Big 12 Championship game in San Antonio, Texas on Dec. 1 as the Big 12 North Division Champion. That game will also be televised by ABC at 7 p.m.
