Watch the 2010 NCAA Cross Country Championships live.

After earning an automatic bid Nov. 9 at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championship in Peoria, Ill., junior Donny Wasinger heads to Terre Haute, Ind., for the 2010 NCAA Cross Country Championships.

Indiana State University will host the 2010 NCAA Cross Country Championships on Nov. 22, at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course located at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center. The men’s race will begin at approximately 11:48 a.m. CST.

Wasinger had a 10th-place finish at the Midwest Regional, while posting a career-best 10K time of 30:05.3; he is one of only 38 male runners, and the only Jayhawk, to qualify for the 2010 NCAA Championships.

A junior from Winona, Minn., Wasinger has consistently been the top performer for the Jayhawk cross country team this year. In each of the five races he has competed in, Wasinger has been the top male Jayhawk runner, finishing in the top-10 overall in three meets. He set a career-best 8K time at the Wisconsin adidas Invitational to go along with his top 10K time last week.

Wasinger has the opportunity to earn one of his goals this weekend; if he finishes in the top-20he will earn the title of All-American.

With the thrill of qualifying in the past, Wasinger has shifted his focus to the task at hand; the national championship. He has competed on the LaVern Gibson Championship course already this season, so there should be no surprises in terms of terrain.
