KU trails Missouri 20-7 at halftime

<?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>Columbia, Mo. – Despite 94 first half rushing yards from senior running back Jon Cornish, the Kansas football team trails Missouri 20-7 at halftime. Cornish has eight carries in the game, including a 42-yard TD scamper in the first quarter, leaving him just eight yards shy of breaking the school single-season record for rushing yards (currently 1,442 by Tony Sands in 1991).

MU jumped to a 13-0 lead early in the game, thanks to a pair of field goals from placekicker Adam Crossett and a 74-yard touchdown pass from Chase Daniel to Jared Perry. Cornish cut the Tiger lead to 13-7 when he scored on an option play around the left end with one minute remaining in the first quarter.

KU kick returner Marcus Herford had 134 return yards on four returns in the first half to set a KU single-season record for kick return yards.
