KU’S WIN:

Gives the Jayhawks a 5-0 record on the season. Improves head coach Bonnie Henrickson’s record at KU (9th season) to 143-121 and her career record to 301-183 (16th season). Brings KU in the overall series against Creighton to 24-12 and is its fifth victory in the last seven games away in Omaha. Improves the Jayhawks to five straight wins in first away games and brings Henrickson to 6-3 on the road. Gives Kansas a 5-0 start for the fourth time in the last five seasons, including three straight. Improves the Jayhawks’ all-time record to 740-519. Improves KU’s all-time non-conference record to 320-147

TEAM NOTES:

Kansas shot 54.2 percent from the field in the first half to make it their highest percentage this season and finished the game 24-45 (53.3 percent). The Jayhawks are now 116-27 under Henrickson when leading at halftime. Kansas scored 32 of its 58 points in the paint and scored 24 off Bluejay turnovers. The Jayhawks held the lead the entire game. KU grabbed a total of 30 rebounds including 22 off the defensive board. The Jayhawks were 9-11 from the line, shooting 81.8 percent which beat its season high of 77 percent against Idaho State. KU posted a season-high 11 steals, including five apiece from Natalie Knight and Angel Goodrich.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES:

Senior forward Carolyn Davis scored her 1,400th career point, posting double digits for the fifth time this season with 12 points as well earning nine rebounds. Junior guard CeCe Harper contributed a season-high 10 points while grabbing two rebounds on the night. Senior guard Monica Engelman finished the game with a season-high 12 points and four rebounds. Senior guard Angel Goodrich recorded nine assists, five steals and chipped in seven points. Sophomore Natalie Knight had a season high of four assists and finished with nine points and three rebounds.
