Sophomore Listed Among Sports Illustrated's Most Underrated

LAWRENCE, Kan. — University of Kansas sophomore cornerback Charles Gordon was listed in the Nov. 29 issue of Sports Illustrated as one of the six most underrated NCAA Division I football players. Gordon, a native of Carson, Calif., was one of two Division I players to collect an NCAA best seven interceptions during the 2004 season. Gordon also leads the Big 12 with 15 passes defended (seven INTs, eight pass breakups).

Other players in the group chosen by SI include Alvin Pearlman (running back, Virginia), Brian Leonard (fullback, Rutgers), Steve Weatherford (punter, Illinois), Lorenzo Alexander (defensive tackle, California) and Freddie Roach (linebacker, Alabama).
