The Jayhawks won their third-straight game to improve to 4-1 on the season while the Westerwinds fall to 1-5.

KU trailed early, but a 14-3 run which spanned seven minutes at the end of the first half and beginning of the second put the Jayhawks in control. McCray scored nine of her season-high 15 points in the second half.

The 5-foot-11 forward shot 6-of-8 from the field and grabbed four rebounds. Jacobs, who had seven points at Creighton in KU’s last game, doubled her season-high with 14 points. Junior Jamie Boyd also reached double-figures with a career-best 10 points and a season-high five rebounds off the bench.

Freshman Kelly Kohn also added a game-high seven assists and five points.

In all, KU’s bench outscored WIU’s 47-16. The Jayhawks shot a season-high 60 percent from the field, while holding the Westernwinds to just 43 percent. KU also outrebounded WIU 33-24, including 21-11 in the second half.

The Jayhawks will travel to Madison, Wis., on Sunday to face non-conference foe Wisconsin at 1:30 p.m. at the Kohl Center.
