Webb Named to All-Big 12 Freshman Team

Dec. 1, 2006

LAWRENCE, Kan. — University of Kansas cornerback Anthony Webb was named to the Sporting News’ Big 12 All-Freshman team the magazine announced Friday. Webb, a native of Glenn Heights, Texas, finished the regular-season with nine pass break-ups including three interceptions — second on the team in both categories.

All three of Webb’s interceptions came during Big 12 play. Only four other players — including teammate Aqib Talib — collected more INTs during conference action. Webb finished the regular-season eighth on the team with 42 total tackles including 35 solo stops. He collected a season-best 10 tackles against Texas A&M on Oct. 7 and intercepted a pair of passes against Kansas State on Nov. 11.
